In 1990, I graduated from Troy University with a B.S. in Education and Athletic Training. Whereupon in 1991, I accepted a graduate assistantship to teach undergraduate classes and work as an assistant Athletic Trainer at the University of South Alabama. In 1994, I graduated from the University of South Alabama with a M.S. in Education and Exercise Physiology. After receiving my teaching certificate from the University of Mobile, I taught one year in the Mobile Archdiocese and then moved to the Mobile County Public School System where I taught Physical Education. In 2000, I was selected as the Mobile County Middle School Teacher of the Year! In November of 2001, I became the first National Board Certified Physical Educator in the state of Alabama. I focused on the development of adolescents and young adults in the educational setting The legal system was intriguing to me and I use my knowledge of child, adolescent and young adult development to explain and teach some of my clients about the legal system. While attending law school, I continued to work as a teacher. I would teach middle school students and then commute to Montgomery three nights a week to attend law school classes. In 2007, I earned my Juris Doctorate from Thomas Goode Jones School of Law.

During law school, I excelled in the areas of criminal, family law, civil procedure and constitutional seminar issues. In 2008, Shortly after, graduation, I opened The Hernandez and Dorger Law Firm, P.C. I personally understand how difficult, stressful and even frightening the legal system can be, particularly if this is your first experience. I built the reputation of this firm on a strong work ethic and determination combined with aggressive representation of people with real stories and real lives that were impacted by the legal system. Several of the cases I have been involved in have made headlines, some of them have become national stories. These cases and the results I was able to achieve in these cases has impacted and made a difference in the lives of many people in Alabama and across the nation. I like to think outside the box and just because things have been done a certain way overtime, doesn’t mean that is the only way to do things. I teach those around me that what makes each of us different is not bad; it is just different. Collectively we are stronger as a team than we are as an individual. I believe education is power and preparation is paramount to ensuring success. Here at the Hernandez Firm, we utilize the team approach; we meet regularly and discuss each individual case and we look for the best available solution for the problems our clients face. We may not always win, but at the Hernandez Firm, you have a team that is educated, skilled and prepared to fight for you!

My firm is here to help you understand the options available to you in your particular situation. My team will provide you with honest, determined and professional representation. It is my fervent belief that every person is entitled to representation and to have their civil and constitutional rights vigorously defended and protected. Every case matters. Every client is important. At the Hernandez Firm we try to look out for the little guy and we try to give you a voice and opportunity to make your voice heard.

At the Hernandez firm, you meet with us one-on-one and sometimes as a team, you describe the situation and experience you are facing in the legal system; we explain your options and when you hire us we get to work! We empathize with our clients and we work to help them with the situations they encounter. We confidently and aggressively pursue available avenues of relief for you! We present you with the best possible situations for your consideration in resolving your legal issues within your experience with the legal system.
